Players' Confidence High Ahead of New Season

With less than a month before the start of the season, there is a new sense of purpose and renewal at the PPFC training grounds, due in no small part to the club's recent rejuvenation and financial restructuring under chairman HY. The latest appointment of Mr. Ken Nottwin has also further boosted the confidence of the PPFC players.

When informed about Nottwin's title-winning ambitions this season, PPFC skipper, Wah Bay Sai, was in full support of his new boss, saying that, "Confidence is high... ... and you can see that in our daily training sessions."

Chinese import, super striker Wo Bu Xing, wholly agreed, "Self-belief is very important. And if we believe we can, we can."

So can PPFC finally win their first title in this coming season?

We watch and wait.

Official Press Release from PPFC

New PPFC Manager Confident About the Season Ahead

Newly-appointed manager of PPFC, Mr Ken Nottwin, had stated his ambitions of challenging for the league title in his first season in charge in a press conference held earlier today.

Mr Ken Nottwin has to say, "A winning mentality is most important and this is already deeply rooted and entrenched in this club's culture; and with the resources and support provided by Mr. HY, PPFC will definitely be gunning for honours this season."

When enquired about the missing K from his $500 transfer budget, Nottwin laughed it off and (jokingly?) said that he had already spent his entire season's budget on a round of beers at the local pub for the lads. Pressed further upon the state of the club's coffers, the PPFC manager clammed up and said to reporters that "financial matters are solely handled and decided by the chairman."

Official Press Release from PPFC

Appointment of Ken Nottwin as PPFC Manager

After a long overdue break over the Labour Day hols, PPFC has resumed normal operations by announcing the appointment of Mister Ken Nottwin as its new manager.

When questioned by the media about the foreign coach's lack of prior coaching experience, PPFC director of football, LTL stated, "Mr Nottwin has all the requisite skills and credentials to succeed in the league and has impressed sic (us) with the depth and breadth of his tactical knowledge in the game. We believe PPFC will progress and go far under him."

However, when pressed to set a target this season for the club, LTL declined comment and stated that there's already "a tacit agreement in place arranged between the chairman and manager."

A Solid-looking Croatian 1st team

Starting 11 for Brazil's 1st World Cup match

This will be the starting lineup of Brazil for their first match against Croatia.

Its great to see that Ronaldo and Adriano together upfront. However, I would prefer Gilberto Silva of Arsenal to replace Ze Roberto because the later is simply not a central midfielder. Well..... I guess Carlos Parreira wants to include as many German-based players in his squad as possible. Lucio, Juan and Ze Roberto all play in the Bundelisga.

This line-up will frighten the nuts off most average teams in the tournament. But the weakest links have to be the 2 ageing fullbacks (Cafu is already f***king 35 for goodness sake!!!!).
Croatia would take heart to expose them using their speedy wingbacks, Srna & Babic. Experienced strikers Drdo Prso and Ivan Klasnic will also provide a stiff test for Lucio and co.

Hard-tackling seasoned defenders Igor Tudor and Robert Kovac will hack the hell out of the Brazilian attackers. But they must be careful not to concede any freekicks or penalties as Ronaldinho and Roberto Carlos are dead-ball specialists.

Initial punting thoughts: Brazil to win and take Croatia on the handicap.

The Spirit of Achilles

Look Mum!!! I am the greatest warrior of my time and I am wearing a mini-skirt. Yay!!! Hooray!!!

Ok Achilles, careful not to burst your arteries, who gives a f***k about your question anyway. What a dud!!!!!!

Whew!!!! Luckily, Greece didn't make it to the World Cup. God bless!!!

Brazil: The Omni-Potent Samba Wizards with Unlimited Offensive Options

Most of PPFC's best agents are concentrated in the land of Samba, Brazil. Compared with their scrawny and under-developed predecessors, the present generation of our invincible Brazilian agents are being trained in major European arenas. They have successfully combined technical ingenuity with physical prowess. They usually accomplished their missions with aplomb using their very flexible 4-4-2 that can change into utra-offensive 2-4-4 in a blink. However, their performance is sometimes linked to their mood and form. Worse still, a chronic neglect of defence could be their archiles heel. Otherwise, they are widely considered to be the official favourites to be crowned champions.

Key Agents:

DF: Lucio, Roque Junior, Cafu, Roberto Carlos, Belletti, Edmilson, Cicinho, Maicon.

DM: Emerson, Gilberto Silva, Alex

AM: Kaka, Mancini, Ze Roberto, Ronaldinho, Juninho.

ST: Ronaldo, Adriano, Robinho, Baptista.

Argentina: Balanced Team with superb attacking prowess

The Argentinian agents PPFC has at its disposal are all superbly trained in the European style of investment. They are robust, solid and technically-gifted workers. They usually approaches major assignments using their tried & tested 4-2-3-1 with the great flexibility to change to 4-4-2 or 3-4-1-2 when the need arises. This team is the darkhorse to be crowned champions.

Key Agents:

DF: Roberto Ayala, Javier Zanetti, Gabriel Henize, Gabirel Milito, Colochini, Pablo Sorin.

DM: Aldo Duscher, Esteban Combiasso, Javier Mascherano.

AM: Roman Riqulme, Pablo Aimar, Kily Gonzalez, Mario Rosales, Messi, Santiago Scolari.

ST: Carlos Tevez, Hernan Crespo, Javier Saviola, Figueroa.

Shock Financial Sector Meltdown in England

Fears of a unprecendented meltdown of the financial sector in England has hampered PPFC's investment prospects.

According to experts, this latest downturn will take agent Rooney at least 6 weeks or more to salvage and stabilise. Therefore, PPFC will handle its affairs in England with care and caution, even though the whole English economy is still in fairly good shape. This is no time for bravado.

Meanwhile, get tipsy and stay tipsy people. Until next time.......
